Split

Split is the second largest city in the Republic of Croatia and the largest Croatian city on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea. The city is framed by two mountains, Mosor and Kozjak, and its beautiful panoramic views of the islands and sea give it a true Mediterranean charm.

Split is the third busiest passenger port in the Mediterranean, and it is home to a large number of diplomatic, consular, and international organization representations in Croatia.

Split-Dalmatia County is the largest county in Croatia in terms of area, and an interesting fact is that its sea area is larger than the land and island area combined. Geographically, it is located in the central part of the Adriatic coast. It stretches from Vrlika in the north to the most remote Croatian island of Palagruža in the south, and from Marina in the west to Vrgorac in the east.

Split-Dalmatia County borders: to the north with the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the east with Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and to the south it extends to the border of the territorial sea of the Republic of Croatia.
