Slavonski Brod, the seventh largest city in Croatia by size. It is located on the banks of the river Sava and extends to the gentle slopes of Dilj Mountain. The city's long history and rich tradition are evidenced by the original Roman diploma from year 71 with the first record of the ancient name Brod.

Although primarily an industrial city, Slavonski Brod is also a business center and a venue for numerous business events. The city has swimming pools, cycling and jogging trails leading to the longest continental sandy beach in Croatia – Poloje. In this part of the city, there is also the unique Splavarska street, as well as a 3D painting with Sava River motifs, painted by a local resident Filip Mrvelj on a surface of 1,300 square meters.

This is a city where the famous Croatian writer Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić wrote her most beautiful children's stories, where the great Croatian poet Dragutin Tadijanović was educated, and where the celebrated footballer Mario Mandžukić was born. It is worth noting that historical sources indicate that the necktie, as a globally recognized symbol of men's fashion, originated from the area of Slavonski Brod.
